Exeter and District League Success
17 May 2012
The season has now come to an end for Queen’s BC and what a season it has been.
Moves going on behind the scenes have enabled the performance centre to continue its good work and produce excellent quality players.
The fruits of all this hard work are certainly being rewarded by some amazing results. In the Exeter and District League Queen’s won the Men’s, Ladies and Mixed first division titles. This is the first time this has been achieved,
On top of these remarkable achievements Russell Walker and Hannah Preece were selected as regular members of the Devon 1st Senior team.
Both played in every match and helped the devon 1st team to win its Division in the Inter County Championship. As a result they have now been promoted to Division One for next season.
In addition to Russell and Hannah, both Simon Brassington and Sarah Preece played for the Devon first team on a couple of occasions.
Nick Masson Club Chairman said: 'We are all very proud of our adult teams and to have won the first divisions in all categories of the Exeter and District League is really an outstanding achievement for all the players. This is the first time the ladies have won the first division and they have come up against some really good teams'.
Again many congratulations to all concerned.

Lauren Theedom took the U/15 Bronze Tournament in Cornwall by storm winning both the ladies Singles and the Ladies Doubles with Vicki Prouse. Lauren not only plays at queens bc but is also on the Performance Centre pathway working closely with Helen Ward.
It is great to see such young players doing so well and making their mark in national tournaments. I am sure this won't be the last success that we will see from Lauren. This was a great weekend with Sarah Preece winning the Ladies Doubles at an Adult Silver graded tournament. This is on the back of Sarah's success at previous weeks Devon Restricted tournament.
