On Saturday 11th June 2016, 19 children from Queens Badminton Club travelled to Cranford Sports Club in Exmouth to play a friendly match against Cranford Badminton Club.
The match was designed to offer the very youngest players in Queens an opportunity to play competitive matches against different players in a different setting.
Players as young as 6 years old attended and our players did brilliantly well. Sue Williams (Head Coach at Cranford) was very welcoming and had some really great players too. Nick Masson (Queens Club Chairman) who travelled down along with Adrian Partridge and Ben Metherell as assistant coaches said: ‘As a coaching team we were so proud of the way our players performed and conducted themselves throughout the day. Some individuals had some great games and we were impressed with the progress that they have made’.
At the end of the match parents and players enjoyed a dip in the outdoor pool!
Thank you to all players and parents who supported the event; Sue was so impressed that she asked if we would be prepared to go again. Nick Masson also wanted to thank his coaching team along with Emilia Partridge for giving up their morning to support the event.
